Budget Moves Ahead in North Penn

wnpv_schoolsThe North Penn School Board hopes to hold the line on property taxes.   Thursday night it authorized advertisement of a $200-million dollar budget for the next school year that keeps current programs intact without asking homeowners to dig any deeper into their pockets to pay their taxes.   The spending plan is contingent upon the acceptance of a wage freeze by the teacher's union as well as the other employee groups of the district.   It also assumes state lawmakers will be as good as their word an reinstate more than two million dollars in funding cuts.   The final budget is scheduled for adoption on June 23rd.
