Methacton Budget Raises Taxes
The Methacton School Board has approved a budget that calls for nearly $91 million in spending and a property tax hike of nearly 2.9 percent in the new school year.
It calls for eliminating as many as 17 teaching positions in programs that are being cut. Eight will become vacant through retirements, and others could be laid off, although more retirements are possible. The board will vote on the final budget at its meeting on Thursday, June 21.
