Central Bucks School Board Draws Up Contract Proposal For Teachers

A new contract is proposed for teachers in the Central Bucks School District. The board

is asking teachers to move through a process of six columns and 15 steps in order to

receive raises. The step process is based on credits and degrees of study. The contract

calls for a wage freeze in the first year. Senior educators making more than 100-grand

would see a two-year freeze.  First year teachers would start at 44-thousand dollars, while

teachers with seniority could move close to and above the 100 thousand salary mark.

Labor attorney, Fred D’Angelo says the contract is sluggish on providing raises, but he

expects teachers to ratify the deal. Teachers have already voted on the contract proposal,

but the results have not been released
