NP Budget Cutting Continues
North Penn School District administrators are looking for ways to cut spending in the budget for the new school year, but a deal to share busing costs for private school students with neighboring districts is not one of them. That program, which started last fall, is dead because the other districts have no interest in keeping it going.
Instrumental music will continue in the elementary schools, but some groups may be larger, funding for the International Spring Festival has been dropped, and more secondary level teachers will have six classes a day instead of five, and it still looks like the budget will call for a 2.9 percent property tax hike.
