The Archdiocese of Philadelphia Office of Catholic Education has decided not to build a new Lansdale Catholic Regional High School in Hilltown.

A letter sent to parents and guardians Monday says the financial challenges facing the Archdiocese have been clearly communicated in recent months, and the building project is not the most prudent use of resources.

It says Lansdale Catholic has made several improvements including technology upgrades, it will continue providing a high quality education well into the future, and the Hilltown land, bought several years ago, will probably be marketed for sale.
