School Shooting on the Mind of SASD President

The Souderton Area School Board met Thursday night for the first time since the tragedy at the elementary school in Connecticut.   District officials showed their respect for the shooting victims by flying the American flag at half mast outside the Administrative Office Building.   School Board President Bernie Currie says what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School is still very much on the minds of district officials.   He says they have used the week since the tragedy to look at their own security arrangements.   Currie is also praising school building administrators and teachers for making things as normal as possible for students on their first day back in class after the shootings in Connecticut.
