The Palisades School Board in Bucks County has approved a student search policy that allows strip searches or, in the language of the policy, searches involving removal of clothing or examination beneath clothing.

It authorizes strip searches if administrators have reasonable suspicion to believe a student is hiding something that could threaten the health, safety or welfare of other students.

It requires administrators of the same gender as the student to conduct the searches, it requires at least one other staff member of the same gender to be present, and they could conduct strip searches only after consulting with the solicitor.
