Property taxes are on the way up in the Souderton Area School District, but not by a much as originally thought.
The School Board Wednesday night approved a proposed final budget for the next school year that calls for an increase of about 2.1 percent. The finance committee meeting brought more change to that number. Business Director, Bill Stone, laid out a list of additional revenue sources and expense savings that cut the increase by a full point.
“For a home accessed at 150,000 dollars the increase will be 57 dollars per year.”
The School Board will take final action on a budget for the next school year at its meeting on June 19th.
