Souderton borough council has rezoned the old Souderton High School property. The 20-acres now constitute a mixed use redevelopment district. The new designation is alot like the high school redevelopment overlay which preceded it but the underlying residential and commercial zoning have been combined with other uses to maximize redevelopment potential. Borough officials say as far as they know, the school district has no buyer for the property currently but council wants to be ready with the right zoning when one steps forward. The school district had an $11,000,000 agreement of sale on the property three-and-a-half years ago but the deal fell apart.

Police say school security saw him taking the scale, valued at $550, from a closet and they found it in his vehicle parked outside the school along with a small amount of marijuana. Dinenno was arraigned before a district justice and released on $1,000 unsecured bail.
