Charter School Rejected in North Penn School District

The North Penn School Board has rejected a proposal for a charter school.   The Montgomery Flex School would have used a combination of online learning and personalized instruction in a bricks and mortar school to serve students between 7th and 12th grade.   North Penn officials say Montgomery Flex failed to demonstrate sustainable support in the community, identify a suitable facility and show that it could provide students with an education.   They also say the application submitted was for a cyber school and under Pennsylvania law only the state can grant those.   Montgomery Flex Charter School Founder Tim Sager says he is not surprised by the initial rejection and he will either file an appeal with the state department of education or resubmit the application with changes that address the issues brought up by North Penn officials.
