Looking for a fun night out while at the same time helping our local youth chase down a dream? Then join the Lenape Valley Tomahawks 12-and-under Baseball Team for their Beef and Beer For The Boys fundraising event on February 19th, from 7-11 pm, at St. Cyril on Almshouse and Meetinghouse Roads in Jamison.
Tickets are just $40 per person, which includes food, beer, wine and live entertainment from the popular Bucks County-based band, Mid-Life Crisis. The event will also include a Silent Auction, 50-50 Raffle and more, with all the proceeds to benefit the Tomahawks 12U Baseball Team’s once-in-a-lifetime experience to play at Cooperstown Dreams Park – a week-long tournament held in the birthplace of baseball, Cooperstown, NY.

Wednesday March 23
Mr. Greg Huber will discuss the various barn types in Pennsylvania, among them the ground barn style, and the earliest fore-bay style or Sweitzer, the Standard and the English style Lake District barn. Included will be a look at some of the last remaining log barns. Learn how to assign general dates of construction of styles and types. Mr. Huber is a barn and house historian and has specialized in pre-1840 house and barn architecture of Holland Dutch and Pennsylvania Swiss-German.

He has taught clock repair, is a member of the Bucks County Antiques Dealers Association and a clock appraiser. Mr. Bob Swaim will present a history of many toys that are friendly to the environment. These old toys require no batteries and are skilled based or interactive with the user. One focus will be the Slinky, which has a rich Pennsylvania history. In order to recognize the Pennsylvania base of this toy, Mr. Swaim is trying to make the Slinky the Pennsylvania toy.

Partnership TMA



The Executive Director of the Partnership TMA, Peggy Schmidt hosts the monthly Transportation Edition of Comment Please by Univest. On the second Thursday of the month between 12:10-1pm, Peggy talks with the experts about expanding transportation options in our regions.

peggyschmidt1.jpgPeggy Schmidt has been the executive director of the Partnership TMA of Montgomery County in Pennsylvania for ten years. Under her leadership the PTMA has implemented a fixed route shuttle bus system, livable community programs, car and van pool programs and travel training assistance for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Ms. Schmidt is a sought after speaker on transportation issues in the United States and Canada.  She also writes a biweekly newspaper column on transportation and land use. 

In her free time she is part owner of Ghost Tours of America with tours in the Outer Banks and Phoenixville, PA.
