Darryl Berger
Program Director / Show Host

Darryl joined the WNPV family in 1985 and served as News Director for 9 years before becoming the Program Director in the mid-90’s. He’s done news for and hosted the morning show for more than 21 years, but is perhaps best known as the host of ‘Comment Please by Univest’ which he has done since 1987. “The show isn’t a platform for me to forward my political or personal agenda,” says the usually affable host. “The program provides a daily slice of life for the folks who live in Montgomery and Bucks Counties.”Darryl Berger

Darryl has received dozens of broadcast awards for news, sports and talk programming from the Associated Press, Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters, Philadelphia Press Association and Society of Professional Journalists. He was named Consumer of the Year in 1998 by the Pennsylvania Association of Weights and Measures. Darryl also has received the regional award for public service from the Social Security Administration.

Darryl grew up in Pennsburg and graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School. He attended Drexel University and Montgomery County Community College prior to breaking into radio at a public station in Warminster. There he fell in love with broadcasting in 1981 and Vicki Bailey in 1983. Fortunately both remain in his life, on the radio at AM-1440 and with the now Vicki Berger in Coopersburg, Pa.

Randy Brock
News Director

Randy Brock

Randy Brock has been WNPV's news director since March of 2000.  He previously worked part-time for the station from 1990-92.

He has been in the radio business since 1961, when he was still in high school.  He graduated that year from Jamestown High School in New York and graduated from Temple University with a degree in Secondary English Education.  He was already in the broadcasting business, and decided that he liked radio stations better than classrooms.

After leaving his hometown, he worked for radio stations in Buffalo, Syracuse, Boston, Denver, Hartford and Philadelphia.  The Philadelphia stations included WFIL and WIBG in the 1970s and WPEN and WWDB in the 1980s and 90s.

He has also written more than 500 freelance newspaper stories and a handful of magazine stories over the years.

At WNPV he anchors the early-morning "AM Edition" local newscasts, then develops new stories later in the day.  He attends most Montgomery County Commissioners meetings, as well as various other meetings and news conferences.   He also goes to historic re-enactments and other local community events, mostly on weekends, and runs stories about them on Monday morning.

He has brought home several awards for the station, including "Best Regularly Scheduled Newscast" awards for six consecutive years.

Joe LeCompte
On Air Talent and Production
Joe_LeCompte2

A college professor once told me “You want to get in the business, well, you better get ready live on a lot of hard rolls and butter.” There’s a lot of truth in that statement.  I think that’s the general rule if you plan to pursue a career in the field of entertainment, but when you love it, that’s all that matters.  I started my career in 1983 in Scranton, Pa at a station very similar to WNPV.  I’ve always gravitated toward full-service radio stations that provide listeners with all the information they need, particularly in a local sense. While I have enjoyed these opportunities, I’ve also worked in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Trenton and Wilmington, Delaware, performing duties as a news director, news anchor, reporter and disc jockey. WNPV has allowed me to further stretch my creative pursuits as a production assistant and producer. You can hear me Monday Through Thursday at 11:05am and 12:05pm as I bring you up-to-date with weather and other information.

He is arguably the stations "MVP" -  chief engineer Dave McCrork, the man who keeps WNPV on the air and all its equipment running smoothly.

Dave has operated his own business since 1973. In addition to being the chief engineer at WNPV, he retains the same title at suburban  radio stations  WNAP and WISP, and WCOJ.

Dave's value to the radio station goes well beyond his mechanical abilities. Dave's sense of humor can brighten any-body's day!

He and his wife Joanne live in Souderton.
